Hailey Briscoe

Biography

In her undergraduate Introduction to Women's Reproductive Health class, Hailey was first introduced to the significant disparities facing black mothers and infants. This revelation ignited her passion in learning more about the intricacies of the parent-child relationship. She pursued her Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Michigan in Gender & Health; investigating the intersection between identity and public health, with a minor in Biochemistry. From there, she particpated in research that took her across the world to a rural village in Ghana, returning home to work in community-based organizations across the city of Detroit. Introduced by a colleague, Hailey decided to pursue a dual title program at Wayne State University in Social Work and Infant Mental Health, an education with which she aims employ to implement systems-level approaches to improving the outcomes for BIPOC mothers and infants across Southeastern Michigan.
