Post‐Doctoral position in Computer‐Delivered Brief Interventions for Perinatal Drug and Alcohol Use
Wayne State University (a vibrant research institution ranked 75th of over 600 U.S. universities in research and development expenditures) announces the availability of a post‐doctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, in collaboration with the Merrill‐Palmer Skillman Institute of WSU.
This fellowship offers advanced training in the use of interactive technology and motivational approaches to address illicit dug use, smoking, problem alcohol use, and child maltreatment, particularly with pregnant and post‐partum women. Training will include participation in ongoing NIH/CDC funded studies within the Parent Health Lab, as well as opportunities to pursue independent interests, either within the Lab or in collaboration with some of the many other exciting research groups at WSU. Assistance in pursuing independent funding is also included. Applicants must have completed training in clinical, counseling, or health psychology, or a related field. Applicants must also have interests/experience in substance abuse, brief motivational interventions, health behavior change, parenting interventions, and/or child maltreatment research. Strong interest in manuscript publication, grant writing, and a career in research is essential. This position carries substantial opportunities to publish and to mentor doctoral students. Salary is competitive.
